Environmental Toxins are
Hormone Disruptors

Hormonal imbalances create Emotional, Mental and Physical instability

Recent studies show that Environmental Toxins are having a wide range of serious effects on our health. Few people seem aware that these man-made chemicals are directly affecting the emotional, mental and physical well being of every man, woman and child in varying degrees from central cities to the far reaches of the outback – and this is having far reaching and yet unknown consequences.

In the past 40 years we have seen a dramatic increase in cancer rates, allergies, asthma, skin problems, immune disorders, chemicals sensitivities, infertility in both men and women, children born with genital deformities, spontaneous abortions, depression, emotional instability, aggression and a general increase in undiagnosed un-wellness. These increases show a remarkable correlation to the introduction of new (and often very useful) industrial chemicals to our daily lives. We may eventually pay a very high price for some of our daily conveniences.

At our Bioresonance clinic we are seeing more and more patients presenting with symptoms from being unable to stop crying, to emotions so out of control they feel like they are losing their minds, to panic attacks, uncontrollable racing thoughts, depression, inflamed eruptions on their skin and many more.

The culprit: Environmental Toxins disrupting the body’s control systems – namely the hormonal systems.

Over 70,000 synthetic chemicals are in commercial use today with only a handful tested – of these just over 200 have already been identified as “hormone disruptors”. Every living thing now has DDT in its tissues, yet we are told that these are within “safe and acceptable levels”. Is it fair to ask – How much sewerage can go into a tin of soup before it gets taken from the shelves?

Environmental Toxins wield a variety of influences on the body, especially so the hormonal system – a delicate and finely tuned system - Some chemicals have similar molecular structures to the body’s own hormones and insinuate themselves directly into the endocrine system, then mimicking the body’s own natural chemical messengers; they can elevate the levels of oestrogen, jam signals and spread disinformation, creating a distortion that affects the whole hormonal system and by doing so altering gene expression. Receptor sites fill up with these synthetic hormones leaving the bodies own hormones without a home – disrupting the messengers, and manifesting in “un-natural” body functions.

Many of the organochlorins chemicals and toxic metals have been found to adversely affect the levels of brain neurotransmitter uptake of serotonin, dopamine, acetylcholine and norepinephrine, which control the brain and body’s neurologic functions – these are the feel good, am happy hormones.

Chemicals that disrupt hormone messages have the power to rob us of rich possibilities that have been the legacy of our species and, indeed, the essence of humanity. It has been suggested that we should consider chemical contamination as a factor contributing to the increased prevalence of dysfunctional behaviour in human society (see note 1).

Our immune system is extremely sensitive to the presence of toxins in the body and will try everything to eliminate them – usually without success. With toxins hidden inside the cells and tissues an autoimmune response is developed to these same cells and tissues - the root problem for many toxin-immune related diseases. Yet our medical fraternity prescribes still further chemicals (usually steroidal creams) to cover-up the resulting skin eruptions.

An excess level of oestrogen caused by environmental toxins affects both men and women – they increase the risk of developing hormone related cancers in breasts, ovaries, prostate and testes (see note 2). Up 50% plus in the past 40 years. Biopsies on the breast cancer tissues show high levels of Dioxins, DDT, insecticides, and herbicides, Phthalates, methyl mercury, radiation and more (see note 3). Excess oestrogen in women causes weight gain especially in the hips and thighs, PMT, endometriosis, fibrocystic breasts, and infertility.

In men, excess oestrogen lowers their testosterone levels, which correlates to heart disease, lower sperm counts, infertility, enlarging of the prostate, loss of muscle strength, overweight and impotency – excess oestrogen feminises men. Excess oestrogen also suppresses the thyroid function, uses up B6 and decreases the body’s magnesium levels, causes water retention and fat deposition primarily in the hips, thighs and buttocks.

Dysfunction of the adrenals can cause a rise in the levels of cortisol production (a steroid hormone) this can causes a chain reaction that impact on several organs and systems. We will see carbohydrate cravings and uncontrollable eating binges, disturbed sleep patterns with an inability to switch off, decreasing insulin sensitivity which increases blood sugar which gets turned into fat (abdominal area), raising of cholesterol levels, and lowering of the DHEA. Low DHEA levels play a role in sex hormones (libido declines), in quickening of the aging processes like skin wrinkling, and memory decline. Low DHEA also depresses the immune system and changes the thyroid function making it even more difficult to lose weight (see note 4).

Daily exposure to such as Dioxin, DDT, Lead, PCP’s, PCB’s through ingestion, inhalation and skin absorption builds up these toxins in your body’s tissues – WHERE THEY REMAIN. Your body has no way of completely metabolising them.

Your exposure can be in and around your home, with the use of cosmetics, perfumes, nail polish, personal care products, birth control pills, plastic baby bottles, dummies, herbicide sprays, household cleaners, bleaches, PVC pipes and new carpets to name a few. All products stored in plastics leach out gases that you then inhale or ingest. Water drink bottles when heated in the sun also release these chemicals.

Next time you spray herbicide on the lawn, or spray the house with pesticides – take a second to read the contents – and the warnings on the label. While we know these are highly toxic – again we are told that “safe levels” are OK for us.

Men have no way of getting rid of these environmental chemicals. Women due to their higher percentage of body fat and the hormonal changes that occur during pregnancy, breast-feeding and menopause - can “mobilise” internal stores of pollutants many years after the initial deposit or exposure.

This “mobilisation” carries its own problems, as these contaminates can transfer across the placenta to a growing foetus. We know there is a critical window of time for foetal reproductive, behavioural, nervous and immune systems development.

A 2005 study on the Umbilical cord blood of newborns showed the presence (on average) of 287 different industrial chemicals that can cause cancer, brain damage and birth defects – the onslaught even before birth! (see note 6)

Researchers at Washington State University suggest that a disease you are suffering today could be a result of your great-grandmother being exposed to an environmental toxin during pregnancy. Their discovery suggests that toxins may play a role in heritable diseases - - previously thought to be caused solely by genetic mutations (see note 6).

Some of the common Hormone disruptors you will have been exposed to:

DDT now banned in most ‘developed’ countries as highly toxic – this widely used herbicide has a physical life of 40 years and a ‘resonance life’ of 160 years. It accumulates in fat and breast tissue. Can decrease fertility, cause deformities and spontaneous abortions.

Pesticides featuring (in so-called low doses) organophosphates as used in WWII as a nerve gas. Can result in nerve and muscle damage, brain damage, and aggressive behaviour. There is an increased risk for leukaemia in children whose parents have used pesticide in the home or garden before the child’s birth. Source – Journal of National cancer institute.

Bisphenol-A one of the most pervasive chemicals in modern life. It is used to make Polycarbonate plastics – found in plastic resins used to coat cans, baby bottles, drink containers, toys, plastic wraps, microwave ovenware, etc. Correlated with miscarriages and Down’s Syndrome.

PCB’s found in plastics, paints, adhesives, inks and dyes. Can impair brain development.

Dioxins A general name applied to a group of chemicals as by-products of industrial processes involving chlorine – such as the incineration of waste, Chemical, plastic, pesticide manufacturing, and pulp and paper bleaching. This most carcinogenic of all toxins harms the immune, thyroid, neurological and reproductive systems. Dioxin exposure leads to both girls and boys becoming more feminine, and causes significant changes in the sex ratio of children.

Heavy Metals such as lead, mercury, copper, aluminium, and tin. Especially prevalent in amalgam fillings, paints, red lipstick, and hair dyes. The average individual has eight amalgam fillings and could absorb up to 120 micrograms of mercury per day. These levels are consistent with reports of 60 micrograms of mercury per day collected in human faeces. Daily absorption of all forms of mercury from fish and seafood is 2.3, air and water 0.3 per day. The mercury escapes continuously primarily in the form of vapour, chewing, brushing and hot fluids stimulates this release (see note 5). These metals target the immune system, the memory area of the brain and the nervous system. They have been implicated in a range of emotional and behavioural problems in children including autism dyslexia, ADHD, and learning difficulties.

Formaldehyde found in clothing, perfumes, and toothpaste, mouthwash, hair spray, cosmetics, hair setting lotions, air fresheners, fungicides, nail polish Dry cleaning solvents. Dead bodies are not decomposing as fast as they used to because of the build up of formaldehyde. Twice as much Formaldehyde was needed to embalm a person 20 years ago compared to today.

PDBE’s Flame-retardants – commonly found in clothing, furniture, and drapes. Can be carcinogenic and known to affect neurological and endocrine systems.

Parabens are compounds used as preservatives in thousands of cosmetics, foods, and pharmaceutical products – commonly found in breast cancer tissue.

Phthalates ingredients ubiquitous in cosmetics, children’s toys, dummies, bottles and personal care products. Have been shown to significantly increase cell proliferation in human breast cancer cells. It is also known to hasten puberty in children. Generally used to make plastics softer and more pliable, and prevent make-up from smudging. According to Dr Mercola (see note 7) women are absorbing up to 5lbs of make-up chemicals per year into their bodies.

Remember once these Environmental Toxins get into your body through ingestion inhalation and skin absorption they will settle into your body’s tissues – where they remain -

At the Bioresonance Clinic we use a highly sophisticated technology that can detect the build up of some 2,000 individual dangerous toxins that may be in your body’s tissues; and we use Isopathic Therapy to help eliminate them – further testing following treatment will confirm their removal.

We also do a comprehensive testing of, then treat energetically all of the hormonal system for irregularities. Hormonal imbalances cause a multitude of different health issues as mentioned above. We have some men presenting with higher oestrogen levels than women and vise versa. As the environmental toxins are removed and with the help of the energetic hormonal rebalancing we find the hormonal system does stabilises.

Bioresonance works under the guidance of the renowned practitioner John Godwin of Healing World in Tauranga. John has been in the natural health industry for 22 years and has compiled an enormous reservoir of knowledge that is of huge value to his and our patients. With these years of research and practice John discovered that toxins layer themselves in the body in what he calls a Toxic Pecking Order (TPO) and the most toxic must be removed first, down to the least toxic.
